Friend of mine into cars picked this up knowing i am into watches and clocks. Before he lets it go he would like to know a bit about it and if he scored or not.

.Said i would ask the brains trust on here for him.
( i would like to know what to offer the smart-arse )

It's pretty cool, but not super valuable.mm I have seen one or two similar on the 'bay fetch a couple hundred IIRC. One fore sale recently (round) went unsold with an asking of around US$300.

Based on the style, I would say it is late 30's early 40's.

EDIT: eBay recent sales...even less

Jaeger Clocks were pretty common in early British made cars, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Bristol to name three, also Ferrari did use them sometimes in models of the same era. I was offered one, the person knowing I was a JLC fan for 80.00GBP but decided against it, so I don't know.
