路Hi guys, just bought one blue dial 811; I'll post photos as soon as I receive it.
I've also bought a ref. 13 double grain Gay Freres bracelet; however, it has not the right endlinks for the 811.
Does any of you know where I could get the endlinks? The code should be IF (but I suppose IG should work as well).

路Congratulations the blue dial on these are just knockout, although depending on the light they can appear grey. Absolutely best on it GF bracelet.

I'm very satisfied.
However, as you can notice, the endlinks aren't the correct ones.
Do you know where can I get those endlinks (marked IF or maybe also IG)?
Another question: does anyone goes swimming with such a watch?

路I cannot help you with the end links question, but regarding the question about swimming, I would advise against doing so with any vintage watch. No way I'd put my IWC underwater.

I came across this thread and thought it would be a good place to ask opinions about the authenticity of a piece that I recently saw on an online auction website. The case back serial is 1883840 while the movement serial is 1882170.
The price is attractive but what makes me dubious is the white calendar disk on this blue dial as well as how close to each other the "YC" and "automatic" markings are. Therefore I thought I would get some help from you guys. Many thanks in advance!

路All personal choice of course, but I think the condition of the hands would start to bother me too, and I don't think you can get a clear enough read on the case from the site's photos. You're looking for something like this
These do come up often enough to make it tolerable to wait it out. I think others will be better authorities than me on price, but I suspect they are still super value!

路A recent acquisition - I'm pretty chuffed with it as I think it's rather rare in 18K with this dial. I can't decide if I should call it brown, or if it's the same grey as on the steel grey dialed variants, except that the contrast with the gold highlights makes it look brownish. In any case it has the same vertically brushed finish that changes in tone quite dramatically in different lighting conditions. I've only seen one other online.
It's either not far off NOS or else has been refinished by IWC themselves at some point. The lack of a serial number on the outside of the caseback makes me wonder if it's the latter.

路Hi, I'm new to the forum (though spend time on WUS), and am on the lookout for a Yacht Club, auto with date, in steel on the oyster / ref 10 bracelet. I think I'm set on the silver dial, but some of the examples here have me wavering on the blue and grey.
I'm UK based.
Is anyone willing to give me a bit of a steer? Does posting WTB ads reap rewards? It will be my first vintage watch, so I'm slightly wary of Ebay / C24. Lots seem to have been over polished / lost their brushing and edges. And I'd rather buy from a fellow enthusiast than from a dealer half way round the world, but I appreciate that isn't always possible.

路The case may no longer have the original polish, but it doesn't seem too polished. The hands are not so nice, maybe it is still possible to polish them, otherwise there are sometimes original ones on eBay. I have often seen a white date disk on the blue Yacht Club, it was probably installed during a service. It's not bad, but it would bother me...
I don't think the watch is bad overall, but it depends on the price. How much should it cost?

The watch is rarely offered here in the OF. I have just sold one, but in the German watch forum. You can only post a request here if you have at least 200 posts, so it will take a while. If you have a lot of time, you can see if one pops up here in the forum. Otherwise, have a look at chrono24, where Japanese dealers in particular regularly offer yacht clubs in reasonable condition at reasonable prices (despite import duties). If you want the Oyster bracelet, then buy a watch that comes with the bracelet. Finding it separately is almost impossible or very expensive. If you have found a nice watch, then post it in the OF, where the experts can help you assess it.

It's taken me 2 years+ to get over 300 posts on WUS, so the WTB route here is unlikely to suit me!
Also, thanks for the advice re bracelet. I'm intending to hold on for the oyster.

Where there is no metal encasing / shrouding the rotor, is that because there is a part missing? Or are they due to IWC modifying the design and either version is correct and complete?
