Well, I'm in envy!

That is a very nice watch. Must be a late vintage caliber 89? Do you know the year the watch was produced?

72 on the guarantee card. All numbers correct, on case back and on paper.

For some reason I am particularly enthused about any vintage IWC watch featuring the caliber 89 movement.

A caliber 89 IWC with a svelte rendition of C-style case styling is most attractive.

From my experience this reference is highly liked by IWC enthusiasts that’s another argument why I like it so much. Simplicity and symmetry, glossy indexes and hands, for me it’s very cool, hypnotising design. Doubled 12,3,6,9 indexes creates kind of crosshair design

Absolutely gorgeous! I wore mine yesterday. Mine is from 1970 and has a slightly different, 19 jewel Cal 89 with a shock system on the escapement. It doesn’t hack, does yours?

Oh ok, I’m not aware of those differences. Why are they different do you know? I have other 89 with more engravings on bridge like yours have but thought this is just about engravings, maybe “older” style
