Chrono24 certified Speedmaster with fake bezel, i contacted the seller about it but he did not respond.

Hello everyone. I just want to get an opinion on the authenticity of this 2531.80 that I鈥檓 eyeing as it is selling for a bit lower than the usual market price. From the case back the serial number appears to be 80354275. Hope I can get some feedback. Thank you!

Pip looks good, as do the hev. I think its real. The bracelet look new?

The insert bezel is not genuine, but the watch looks good.

Oh. What gave it away?

Would it make sense if I buy the watch and just have it serviced and request a genuine bezel from an Omega Service Center?

The genuine pip is in low level of the insert. The fake is the high level of the insert.

For me, make sense. If the watch is recently serviced, use a watchmaker service just for change the bezel for a genuine part.

Looking to buy a used Speedmaster Sandwich, everything seems to check out but the Serial number is bugging me,
SN: A909990
Serial number on bezel and movement checks out.
Never seen a speedmaster with 7 digit number starting with a letter, will attach Photos aswell and looking at the movement everything seems to check out. All good or what鈥檚 the experts opinion ?

The alphanumeric serial numbers were announced (on the Omega Extranet) in November of 2019. In that announcement, there was no mention of the numbers no longer being sequential.

They did indicate that both numeric and alphanumeric serial numbers would be in production at the same time.
