Hello everyone, first of all I hope you’re doing great! I found this Rolex which I presume to be a submariner 16800 listed on FM (where I’m from, there are many vintage watches going around, so It shouldn’t be a cause for concern). I’ll be honest, I’m a bit out of my depth authenticating this one, since I’m mostly an omega collector. I tried seeing if the watch ticks 8 times per second as to try to see if the frequency was right, I’m almost sure it is, but a second opinion on this matter would be greatly appreciated. I’d like to know if at first glance it looks all right. I know with vintage Rolex one only knows the whole truth once you open the watch, but still I’d like to know if it looks all right. Thank you very much for your help, you guys are the best!!

Poor image quality makes it hard to tell, but I don't see any obvious tells it would be fake.

If you are going to dump a wad of cash on a Rolex, you would be crazy not to look at the movement pre-purchase.

Agreed. Without seeing the movement and high quality pics, can't really judge if it's everything's good. Know back in the day, not having the bezel at the 12 o'clock position was a trick used by sellers if something wasn't right with the watch.

But the old saying "buy the seller" still holds true. In this age where cell phones take great, detailed photos and videos, there's no reason to have crappy pics or blurry videos. From the first video(blurry) looks like the crown isn't seated. Might have just wound it but not sure.

Gut feeling, something feels off about this but can't put a finger on it.

The photos are too poor for me to judge.

I’d pass if the seller can’t provide decent pictures. Anyone with a brain can get a sharp shot with a smartphone
