Is my Vintage Heuer Authentic? All questions here please

Yes, looks OK to me- a Day-Date "no-name" Pasadena
Thanks for commenting! What caught my eye as "strange" is the word "chronograph" instead of "automatic". As well as it having the small rectangles at 12, 3, 6, 9 instead of dots (as far as I've read, 'no name' Pasadenas have dots, 'named' Pasadenas have small rectangles, like this one)

I hadn't noticed the dots/ rectangles on my phone.

It's true that Heuer made these watches for other brands- for example, there is a LeJour that has "Chronograph" under the Day-Date window. I can't see the integrity of the Heuer shield/ script on your watch in enough detail to know if the dial has been refinished.

Thanks for your input! So indeed there's something odd about this watch! Movement looks good, doesn't it?

Hi,
Can anyone please confirm if this is a real Fleiger. The chrono movement is only marked '50'. The case lugs take a spring bar and are not fixed like on 30's Fleigers. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi- no, this one doesn't look right. Heuer did make a Fleiger, but those had very different lugs- as you say, fixed lugs.

Hi all - I'd welcome any thoughts on this ... Carrera 1153S bought on ebay recently. It was a bit of a punt given a few less than great photos and a poor description, but from what I can see it checks out OK as an early 2nd execution 1153S with 60-200 TACHY ring, Cal 11.

I'm surprised its a Calibre 11- the hands and dial are from a second execution of this model, but I would expect that it was only the first model with steel hands would have the Calibre 11, with the rest having the Calibre 12.

Having said that, we were seeing Heuer use the Calibre 11 up to 1974 in small numbers (e.g. the Silverstone), so it's certainly possible.

Actually, looking on http://www.onthedash.com/Guide/_Chronographs/63.Carrera/e.Automatic_Early/b.Ref_1153/ it seems it is a first execution dial & the early (50 to 200) Tachy, but with 2nd execution hands. Who knows 😉

It looks like the chapter ring / tension ring from a Carrera was used instead of the polished rehaut. The incorrect m/h hands might be the bigger concern though.

Hi again ewand, it would be interesting to know the serial of your 1153S to see how that stacks up. I've thought for some time that the early dials (such as the above, the 1153N you queried and my own 1153N also) matched single black stripe hands solely, not the ones above. However I came across an old post from Mark Moss who has a vast experience and knowledge on the subject, saying
'If the watch is very early with single insert markers everywhere bar 12 o'clock, then the hands are the polished steel ones with the black centre inserts,'........'The majority of the single insert marker watches would have come with the second execution hands though:'
which makes sense as we see a lot of these 1153s DO have the black/silver edge hands-even my own 1153N which is a mid-147xxx.

No problem. The movement is made to look like a genuine Heuer signed Valjoux 7733, but aside from that there is nothing overly similar within the Heuer range. I guess the closest would be the Heuer model 73373
