hello everyone,

My grandfather recently passed away, he was a general of the Peruvian Air Force and was issued a Omega seamaster when he was serving. There are only a few listing I found but Notting identical to the watch I was given by him. If anyone could tell me more that would be great. Thank you for your time.

You may want to move this to the "Vintage Omega" subforum, as more people will likely see it there.

Do a search here on OF and you should be able to find a bit of info on these. Also, you should consider getting the watch case opened so the serial # can be obtained and a Extract of the Archives can be ordered from Omega to confirm the provenance (since it affects the value).

Thank you I will move it as suggested, and where would I take it to get the back case removed?

Where are you located? A competent watchmaker would be preferred (i.e., not a shopping mall watch booth or jewelry store)

Potentially a very valuable watch there. If you take it to a watchmaker, ensure they do no other work such as polishing the case, or changing any parts.

Hopefully you're keeping it as a heirloom. If you're planning to sell, search FAP Seamaster on google for extra info.

I'm in NoVa myself. I do not have a recommendation right now other then the Omega Boutique in Tysons. But I think there is at least one trusted watchmaker in DC; I need to search to find the name, as someone mentioned them recently.
