Good buy, I think. Was studying that one closely myself. Only thing I couldn't resolve is whether that caseback is original. The shiny outside finish bothered me as well as the LeCoultre markings. I don't know enough about JLC to know if they mixed & matched JLC and LeCoultre parts.

It's correct.
Only thing I was edgy about was serial 23xxxxxx.
That's 1972 and these were made from 1967-1972
I had armanico the moderator over at prosite for JLC look at it for me,
thumbs up. And he said serial is ok too.
Here's some others from various sites. Showing same shiny back and
caseback markings. See how the "8" is offset a bit on most of them.
JLC NEVER mixed movement markings.
This model I have NEVER seen a Jaeger-LeCoultre caseback marking. They are
ALL LeCoultre

Great pickup!. Had thought I could have a go at it if not for an unplanned purchase. Great to know you got it. And I have to say amanico was really helpful with my LLD purchase too. Btw it will be interesting to see your JLC collection.

Well someone had better say it.......Dibs!!
He's a hoarder.😒

Nice one with a great dial - and I agree it's correct. The cases of JLC often only said LeCoultre inside.

I have been looking around, it seems none of these I can find have
JLC inside caseback. All LeCoultre. Then I started ggogle imaging
the Polaris 65 and 68. All of them I can find are marked LeCoultre
despte what the dial says. I knew they never had a JLC movement
in a LeCoultre marked dial AND vise versa. But never really thought about the
casebacks. Interesting
