馃榾 So, back in 2009 or so I picked up a 3570.50 but found it was not getting much wrist time. And, being a complete idiot, I sold it. Fast forward to the end of 2011 when my passion for that dang watch came back with a vengeance and one thing led to another and...

Yes, I pulled the trigger yesterday on a new one! I am PSYCHED to put it mildly. Hell, I even watched "The American" with George Clooney (ahem, to clarify, he stars in the movie I did not watch it in his company) 馃榿 last night to get in the mood for having a Speedy again 馃ぉ
Anyway, once it arrives I will be sure to post some pics...have a good weekend folks.

I still don't have one... really want a perfect Cal 321... need to convince Kommis to sell me his.

Badass watch mate, forever a classic!

BTW Apollo 13 the movie has plenty of Speedmasters, also the intro of Event Horizon and many others!

You know you can grab a 3573.50 sapphire displayback for it too, straight fit, and show off that 1861 movement, looks awesome

Speedmasters I have bad luck with, I find one and it turns out the dial is relumed, or a service dial, or the hands are wrong, or the movement is shagged out. The only one I want is a 145.012 66/67 and its just so hard to find the right one.

From 1967 CAL 321 with original bracelet ref 1039. Mint condition. 145.012-67 SP, and one 105.012 from -66

How do Cal 321s rate in terms of accuracy in timing? My Cal 320 is still a ways off yet and I've never had a fully serviced one to try out, are they easy enough to get inside COSC specs when correctly serviced?

Ever used a Speedmaster to issue a ticket? like pull up behind and follow some German car with Danish plates plowing through the countryside at 70mph for one mile, pull him over and point to the tachymeter bezel to let him know he's busted!

If its good enough for NASA, a Cal 321 should be good enough for a courtroom IMO 馃槈

I don't understand this line of thinking. Why is a collection required to have any watch? I've never owned a Speedmaster, and the only ones I might like are the pre-Professional models that are smaller dimensions. Can't tell you 'til I try one on. I also don't own a Rolex, yet I don't consider my collection to have any gaping holes. What gives with the whole "mandatory" thing? I've been trying to see the reasoning behind this for years since joining watch forums.

For Sports watch fans Rolex == Submariner, Omega == Speedmaster, AP == Royal Oak Jumbo, Patek == Nautilus. You're more the elegant / dress type (even your Breitlings which are supposedly sports watches are of the more elegant and dressy variety). The Cal 321 Speedmaster was like genesis for sports chronographs, Rolex were still piddling with 35-36mm chronos at the time while Omega went big and stayed big, and made something that lasted unchanged largely since the 1960s kind of like the Porsche 911 and Rolex Submariner. The NASA element is just a bonus.

You don't have to, its just if you're a sports watch tragic 馃槈
