Hi Omega fans, new member here in Dallas.
I've been lurking for a few weeks and have already learned a ton! Thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us noobs.

I've been interested in watches for a very long time, but only recently realized I have the beginnings of a "collection".

So far I've got a Brietling Navitimer Montbrillant Datora, a Tudor Back Bay Blue, and the most recent addition, the ice blue Seiko Presage Cocktail Time.

Looking forward to learning enough to one day contribute something meaningful!

Cheers,
Lucky

Welcome to OF, if you've been 'lurking' you already know what a great place this is!
Nice watches you have there too!

Howdy and Welcome.

Had a great holiday there, stayed in Irving with my kids for a month.

One of the best places I found in Grapevine (for window shopping and drooling).

And the coldest beer I think I ever chugged, at Ft Worth Stockyards one stinking hot day.
Note new cap, T shirt, sunnies etc. Result of travelling international with a carry on and the clothes I was wearing 😁).

And the best eatery in Grapevine. I was amazed at this place, and amazed at the size of the steaks!

Uncle Buck's Brewery and Steakhouse! (pic from the internet, can't find the ones I took).

I've worked - by mail order - with a great vintage watch guy. Can't remember if he's closer to Dallas or Houston, but if you're ever in need of a real artisan, and honest guy, I recommend Gene Furry. You can reach him via his website:

I think he's in the Houston area. Guessing he's pretty busy now with Hurricane Harvey coming. Hopefully he left town.

Summering in Colorado! I didn't know you all were getting a hurricane. I just got through Typhoon Hato and am looking to avoid Prakar. Raining like the dickens in Bangkok though!

I pass there twice a day on my way to work, but have never eaten there. I'll have to give it a shot.

I'm from the Flower Mound area. I can vouch for Uncle Bucs. It's nice to see people from around me

I'm gonna be super original and say a Speedy pro.[emoji12] Just haven't decided if I want maybe a birth year one or newer. Of course that's contingent on me being disciplined enough to save for it.

I'm also partial to the 60's Seamaster 600s like this one Tomvox1 has listed.

Originally from Mississippi. Moved to Dallas about 4 years ago, and just moved to Grapevine last year. Are you in Grapevine as well?

Agreed. Looks like this one is going to be pretty rough.
