A few days away enjoying unseasonably warm weather and a short tourist trip round the Farne Islands situated off the north east coast of England.
Longstone Lighthouse made famous by the exploits of Grace Darling in 1838 - http://www.trinityhouse.co.uk/lighthouses/lighthouse_list/longstone.html - was the furthest most point of the trip, the many islands are a host to many seabirds, unfortunately to early in the season for the wee Puffins.
The seals are always happy to pose for a pic. If only the boat would keep still 馃榾

Having been born on an Island myself and living in Chicago now...I just appreciate seeing water without ice on top!馃槑

In the 2nd pic Mr. Seal sure does look happy to be snapped! Great work Stu. I think we underestimate what rich wilds we have off our coasts!

Standard? Native and found on many of the small rocky islands off both coasts.

Without the Gannet? I thought they all had the Gannet, it's a standard British bird, it's in all the books!
