Hey everyone, just wondering how the Heuer fans and collectors out there really feel about TAG Heuer today? I'm curious if the modern brand's direction and new releases are doing it for you, and if not, what do you want to see from them?

The Carrera will never quite be the same but do you think they're getting closer over recent years with the Glassbox releases etc?

Hi George. Over the years we've had lots of great discussions about this subject in this forum. Might be worth doing a deep dive on those threads to gather background.

The current glassboxes are not my cup of tea, I can't look at them without feeling sick

Hi George.

Well the thing is that Heuer and TAG Heuer are philosophically different and what we have today really is a mishmash of avant garde and retro that tries to appease and appeal to everyone. I doubt the Heuer enthusiasts will ever truly be happy with what modern TH does because they make too many things that simply aren't aimed at them... but the market isn't strong enough to only sell retro styled watches and there are probably more 'TAG Heuer' enthusiasts than 'Heuer' fans by this point, so it doesn't make financial sense to adopt a return to the roots policy.

That makes complete sense and they did make far too many generic watches for their own good. It does feel like there's been a shift in the last few years so hopefully that continues. Thanks!!
