I assume there's nothing special or different about the dial of the watch - in all other respects it's a normal CS3111?
Traced the watch back to 3 sellers ago- nobody has any ideas about the engraving. I think Ill hold off on purchasing- especially since I dont see a SN

Probably a wise decision.

Hi Carrera 3111, I think I've come across the same cs3111 for sale with the Jack Heuer case back. Did you ever get to the bottom of where the case back came from? I've asked the seller if I can see the movement. Did you ever see the watch in person?

I took another look at the one with Jack heuer's signature- it's so poorly done that I can't believe that it's real. You'd think TAG Heuer would have done the job right if it was Jack's watch.

Hello I sourced one Carrera 3140 in 18k gold and I am puzzled with the case back engraving. The dial is normal CS3140 white dial but there is an engraving with Fangio’s signature and Serie Limitee XXX/950 at the back case. Anyone knows more about this limited edition? Thanks

I believe that they are authentic- I don't see any evidence to suggest that they're not.

The only way to be 100% sure would be to send one back to TAG Heuer and have them confirm. Given the age of the watch, I doubt that a dealer would be much help.

Hi! Nearly 10 years later does this still hold true? Thank you!

Box looks fake and isn't the correct type for this watch either. The watch, I'm not sure about. I think a fake looking that realistic would be unlikely. Could have been freshly polished? It does look a little odd, but not seeing anything drastically wrong with it. And it says it was recently serviced. New parts perhaps?

It's a curiosity, for sure - another posted on reddit said they'd bought one with the same style serial new from TH (and also had one of the earlier styles).

Entirely possible that it was just the end of the production run that they switched the casebacks.

Also noted earlier in this thread that the movements were marked differently (later ones had the TH shield) so wonder if there's some crossover there too.

Hi there - that’s my watch in the Reddit thread (with HA1234) it has been quite a tricky job digging into this. I know the box isn’t original, the dealer told me that so sold as “watch only” with authenticity guarantee.

I found one other example of a CS3111 with an HAxxxx serial CS3111 and that user also sent me a pic of his case back with HNxxxx so I’ve determined the HA or H-xxxx is indeed a legitimate serial for these.

If the one I linked is HA0641 and mine is HA1234 I would think there are others so I’m hoping more surface!

I could remove the caseback and get pics but I was told by a local tag service center the movement won’t have a serial anyway but maybe there are other identifying factors. I’m not concerned it’s fake, was a reputable dealer with authenticity guarantee and they insist it is the actual serial of the watch and they’re happy to accept a return but why would I??? It’s flawless (possibly lightly polished but I don’t mind) and seems a decent chance it has a very rare sequential serial
