No, never looked into the history or reasons they used the fonts they did. My only interest in them is as a tool for determining the originality of watches from the era I collect - early 50's into the early 70's.

And damn, that does look like Century Gothic. I think the M is a little wider though.
Could you tell me more about this one, pretty sure its not refinished馃榾

Need to find the right plexi as i accidently dropped her a couple of weeks ago.

I've moved this to a new thread since its a separate watch, the vintage nerds can then consider it separately (just don't want it being confused in the same thread).

crystal available from either ofrei.com or julesborel.com
dial looks ok but if there is a question about whether it is clearly original, need higher resolution pictures showing the entire dial. cannot tell for sure with the 2 pictures provided. have seen tons of stained/aged dials that are repaints.
