Watch jaeger lecoultre chronograph navy Seals. The bezel previously rotated only in one direction. And the ratchet worked. Now it turns in both directions and does not make any sounds. How to remove the bezel. Anyone has thoughts. Maybe someone has pictures or videos. Any help is welcome. The official service offered to change the bezel completely at a price of 1400 pounds.

I would leave it alone. Doubtful you'll need the one way bezel function anyways. Sounds like a click spring might have malfunctioned.

Yes, apparently the spring either broke or flew out of its place. Suddenly it 's not hard to fix , so I ask

I have seen nice bezels getting screwed up by removing them, even with a pro using proper tools. Depends on how stubborn they are mounted. Even if you manage to get the bezel off, you are going to have to effect some sort of repair to the click setup. Forget buying parts from the manufacturer. You'll have to make your own. As you said their cure is a complete assembly.

If it were me, I'd send it off to JLC to have the bezel work the way it was intended. Beautiful watch btw.

This is a fairly recent watch and quite expensive. Why on earth would you want to risk further damage? it really bugs you, let the service center sort it.

I probably should have written right away. I want to buy this watch. When viewing the watch, I drew attention to this problem. The seller can't explain anything because he says he doesn't remember what it was like when he bought a new watch. While negotiations are underway. If I buy it, I will write about it here. The watch is really interesting.

Now this is another matter entirely. This model was a much criticized out of character move for JLC to bump the brands image. It got attention but not in a good way. Enough attention possibly however to attract makers of fakes. The bezel may never have had a click because this is a fake. I’d ask for more pics, inner/ outer caseback, movement and compare to original.

Well you have your negotiating lever. Seems this watch has seen some living but from pics I’m still not entirely convinced it’s authentic.

The seller does not have a very simple character. He sees the price of a chrono24 watch and wants to get the same amount . So far , it is not possible to convince him . Will wait. By the way, what a fair price for such a watch.

So he has the original receipt? Check it over before doing anything else.
How often does someone pay this kind of money new for a watch and then totally flog it.
This difference jumps out to me on the dial:

vs

Possibly a gift from his uncle?

Original documents are available. There is no cash receipt for the purchase. HE didn't save it. The watch was bought in 2014

I edited my last post a bit. Alarm bells are still ringing. Be careful.

Yes for me the case back engravings look cheaply made.

It's all because of dirt and poor photo quality. We are not talking about the originality of the watch. They're all right. I held them in my hands. The question is about the repair of the bezel. But thank you for worrying about possible mistakes on my part.
