This watch was bought new by my wife’s grandpa on his honeymoon. After his passing almost 15 years ago this watch was lost and forgotten. Helping her grandma move dressers and clean. We found a small bag and this was in the bottom. It was in rough shape not running and scratched up. I sent it to a watch maker in pa to get it fixed serviced and a new crystal. And surprised my father in law with his dads long lost watch.

Ya it was awesome I asked about what memories he had and one was his dads gold watch he would always were and say he never new if he sold it or not. His dads name and social is scratched into the caseback like with a knife or something so it was a really cool moment to see him real his dads name in his hand writing. Watches always bring the best moments and memories.

Lovely story - I can imagine this might have been one of the bests gifts your father in law has received... both for it's story, and the thoughtfulness you had put into having it restored for him. Wonderful.
