GMT choices

Elevenists,

I've been pondering on the thought of getting a GMT watch, quite useful when you travel frequently.

Looking at what's on offer from Tag Heuer, I have an issue with the Carreras GMT, be it the regular or the Grand version. That large date window is really a turn off...

Next in line is the Twin-Time, but there's nothing really special about it.

Other models include the Link, Aquaracer and Formula 1.
The Guetta version is nice, but the name on it is not someone I'd associate with.

Not looking into the higher end Rolexes; either stick to Tag, or perhaps consider the Bell & Ross 123 GMT, as I am accustomed to the brand.

What say you?

Been thinking about this a lot this last week, I think I've settled on an anthricite carrera twin time on black leather, or a Tactix Bravo with a gmt face. I tried on the carrera a couple of days back, the anthricite is very pretty. But $3000...

Sure, that would work. There might be some great blue NATOs that would go great with this one. 馃榾

I've got to admit - I really like the look of the F1 GMT. Very "affordable" compared to the Rolex "Batman" watch! If I could, I'd go for it! But my wife would then kill me. Please let us know how it goes elbeik.

I have another fetish, which isn't as obvious as the passion I have for Tag Heuer, as you might have guessed from the original post, and that is Bell & Ross.

I am not talking about their BR, square in your face line, but rather the 123 / 126 vintage series.

While secretly looking for a GMT behind the scene, my wife asked what would I want for my upcoming birthday next month, as she will be traveling to see her sister in Canada. It came at the perfect time.

After researching scarce offering, stumbled on BR126 Heritage Flyback GMT, at almost 40% less retail price, brand new in box.
Yep, that's a GMT function and a flyback chronograph, packaged in a vintage-inspired case.

43mm and quite thick, wears as nicely as my Carrera Calibre 16 Monaco limited edition.
The SpaceX however feels bigger, probably due to the absence of a bezel and all-white dial.

Limited edition of 500, I was lucky to find one 馃榾

Interesting thing about Bell and Ross: They released a racing-inspired model called the BR 126 GT back in late 2015, and when I saw the pictures, the very first thing that popped into my head was "that looks like a Carrera", although I can't say what particular model.

One could also say this takes inspiration from the first Omega Speedmaster generations.
