I thought there was a thread for photos taken in the garden. I have been spending a lot of time working on garden stuff.

I think the earlier photos got peppered about the more general threads. Now I can not find the one I was looking for.

Last evening I pulled the lettuce which had gone to seed. Have more pepper plant seedlings what are going into the lettus box. The peppers make for nice decoration.

Here is a shot of the peppers and the corn. Some of the corn were volunteers from another box last year. One cob started to sprout so I transplanted it into this box. The Koi pond is in the background. Next to and under the corn is squash and Okra. Tomatos are also mixed in.

More wildlife/canine retreat, less garden.

Tomatoes - Cherry/Beef/Moneymaker.

A single Hungarian Muscat vine I planted about 20 years ago. Looks like a decent crop this year, so should yield about a gallon of juice. Probably enough for 5-6 bottles of white wine.

A section of garden I missed from yesterdays post, an area that I set aside for bird feeders and bath which is slightly hidden away in this image but the birds seem to prefer it this way, obvious that my next big task is installing a new fence 🙁

I've been working on converting our lawn to a veggie and perennial flower garden.

It's still a wild mess, but we're slowly making progress. Maybe I can get it presentable in another 2-3 years.

Some bokeh studies with the Helios 44-2 lens:

Those Helios lenses are fun! A guy on my team picked up a bunch to toss on our Sony cine cameras. The bokeh is maybe a bit distracting when seen side by side with other glass, but I liked the look a lot - had a nice soft look on people's skin.

Have you looked into no dig gardening? I converted large areas of lawn into flower beds using cardboard and compost. No digging and you can plant veggies straight into it! I found it quite successful.

Loads of free resources once you get past the plugs for the paid stuff.

Interestingly a lot of modern agriculture has moved to "no till" methods with minimal soil disturbance.

Thanks for the link. Yeah, we're doing the cardboard and mulch process over here for the perennials. Been setting up big 'Vego' garden beds for the veggies to make them even easier to manage.

My issue is that much of the backyard is invested with tons of weeds and I have limited time to garden. So, I'm currently liberating the yard a few square feet per week on avg. One day, maybe I'll get it presentable. At least we're getting some nice lettuce salad greens to justify the garden.

The garden inside the fence has been created and is lovingly cared for by Mrs TM

The Douglas Fir seems happy, if a bit lonely, for a plant that is growing so far from its native land

Outside the garden fence it's my responsibility and is less formal

It becomes wilder the further you wander from the house

We live in the foothills at the base of a mountain which feeds the creek that runs down by the house. The creek is home to giant freshwater crayfish, platypus and trout

We tend to take it for granted... until the latest global conflict or pending disaster brings us back to Earth and brutally reminds us how fortunate we are and how temporary it might be.
