Gallet Adanac, 1988 date of manufacture. Looks like this one, like most of its kind, has had a long & not particularly gentle life.

Dealing with the hardware on this one suggests to me that these watches were never designed with the intention of being serviced (Use it 'til it breaks, then throw it away & get a new one...). Really felt as though the case back tool was in danger of breaking before the case would give up the case back. Did eventually come free all right in the end.

"Inexpensive & robust" could be the theme for this watch, & that extends to the insides, as well. Ronda 373, not fancy, but fit for function.

From a practical point of view, no good argument in favour of servicing a cheap commodity quartz movement like this, but I'll do this just for my own enjoyment.

Dial side of the movement. Dial feet are friction fit (no dial feet screws).

Motion works.

Keyless works.

Watchmaker side of the movement.

Going train.

And that's the last of it.

Not really much to a simple quartz 3-hander, doesn't fill up many cubbies in the parts tray. Off to the cleaner.

Light buff on the case & crystal.

Reassembly, starting with the going train on the watchmaker side.

And that's good for now.

Over to the dial side.

Tritium lume on the dial, hands, & bezel. Strangely crude application for the hands, looks like the lume compound may have been applied (not especially carefully) by hand, although I doubt this was really the case.

Case back did not want to go back on any easier than it came off. Again, felt as though the press would give before the case back (but all came through OK in the end).

All done. Currently gaining about a 1/2 sec per day, may fuss around with the oscillator trim cap a bit, but it's really probably close enough.

The Tritium lume does not visibly emit to the unaided eye any more, but in a dimly lit room & with a long exposure on the camera, can get a sense of what this piece looked like back in the day.
