I find it frustrating that vintage wristwatch minute repeater movements (Vacheron, Patek...) are often left out of auction house photos. This is especially true of the front side of the movement, which makes sense. Still, I always am on the look out for really great photos to show just how truly incredible these little complications are.

Here are a few uncommon photos of the ultra thin caliber 1775 Vacheron minute repeater, which I believe was developed in the early 1940's. It's only 3.28 mm thick, which is mind boggling. That's thinner than many manual wind movements of the day and only about three times thicker than their ultra thin caliber 1003 movement - the thinnest commercial movement in the world.

Yep, it's the ding-dongs (the rings that chime) that are missing. If I owned it, there would always be a ding-dong!
