Plenty of similar watches out there without the Rolex name for a small fraction of that estimate.

JLC makes a very nice version - both vintage and modern. The recent versions have several metal options and dial colors.

...... and if you REALLY want a bargain in vintage, look at Leonidas, Enicar, Juvenia, or any of the host of other brands in either manual wind or that use the Felsa Bidynator caliber 693.

You're good.

This Triple Calendar I attached below was one of my first real vintage watches. Frankly, it's a total PIA if you don't keep it on a winder. And , it's still a PIA because it needs to be re-set at least once a month.

BTW - that rolex is a total FCUK YOU watch. The person who buys it will be some Russian oligarch or a Chinese shopping mall builder. He'll wear it ONCE and then get pi$$ed nobody notices it or cares.

Then, he'll re-auction it and wind up making another 50g's.

Back to Richard Mille, STAT !!

(I've attached a photo (last photo) of the secret telephone buyer of this watch from the auction - his only instructions - "pay as much IS possible!!"

Let's try to find those similar watches.
I'd say Omega cosmic. Any other ideas?

I'm not exxageratingaggerattinging when I write that EVERY watch company made this same watch.

Personally, I like the way some of the Zodiac / Bidynator's look in all steel / black gilt dial.

Also: Gueblin made a tank version in 18k which IMHO is one of the nicest watches ever made. Even nicer than Patek's version.

Triple date - calendar - moonphase was an incredibly popular design ( in the period after WW2 ).

These were the "salad days" of the mechanical watch era. I bet they thought it would never end!

This Minerva is really nice and will set you back around 10,000 - 15,000 USD (in 18k) depending on condition.

Hadn't you sent all those interesting comments, I would have immediately pulled the trigger for that watch. Thank you 😉.
Let's leave this lot for this guy then:
