I think the point here is that while Franken Speedies have always been a threat, the watch that @Archer has shared is mich more than that. It is to the point where the level of commitment by the fraudster is higher than our perceived level of reward. None of which comforts me any...

Man. Absolutely insane the level of detail that went into this fake. I know my litmus test for vintage speedies has now moved much higher

Thanks again, Al @Archer for taking the time not only to inform us of this fake, but to go through things in such clear detail. I always learn so much. You're fantastic!

I had this offered to me about 10 years ago, it was supposedly a 145.022-76, but look how thick the case back is. The movement was also a mess, serial number looked like it was from a tissot, and put together. Sorry for the pics, i took these in a hurry at a flea market when the seller was distracted, with one of the early camera phones.

What camera phone did you use 10 years ago?

Would anyone here have bought this?

It's great to see detailed photos up close, but I think the target of these is not the gang of us here. There's gonna be some sad newbs and unsuspecting nostalgia hunters out there. It pays to know what you're getting.

Thanks for the PSA Al!

The picture says:

Camera
Sony Ericsson K800i

Date of Creation
2007:10:01 17:10:19

Those were nice phones.
