Eberhard scafograf 100 opinions

I recently saw this beauty trawling through eBay and would like to know if anyone had any opinions on it. The watch looks to be in honest condition and also has its original bracelet. The price seems insane at nearly £12,000, I understand these are rare watches and also very attractive in my opinion but i have never heard Eberhard mentioned with brands who have a strong history attached to diving watches such as Blancpain or Panerai.

First generation, with no bezel, which is correct. The crown may be a replacement, but I would need to see more photos. They are rarely seen on the open market, but yes, the asking price is silly.

I owned one for several years.

It's a desirable watch. The price seems high for this particular piece, but if you do a search, you will see that some examples have sold for 5 figures in auctions.

That may not be the most attractive example, but the Scafografs were produced in extremely limited numbers and as noted above don't seem to come to market often, suggesting limited numbers of survivors. Add what appears to be the original bracelet and the strong market for vintage divers and you have a recipe for a potential high price (maybe not that high, but...).

As much as I want to like the 100 as it's the earliest ref I much prefer the aesthetics of the first version 200 with straight lugs and bezel.

These original non-bezel ones just look like they are missing a bezel. I'm sure that is my modern eyes looking at it, but still.

If you are specifically looking for an Eberhard this won't help, but if you are looking for the aesthetic check out a WMT watches "Blackfin" skin diver.
