Do you think a UG 1873 should get any respect from collectors?

I'm a big fan of the look and style of the 1980's through 90's UG Compax.

But, for some reason which I can't figure out, the UG community seems to almost hate these things.

Is it just because they haven't fermented enough (yet) or are they looked at as simple fashion watches with outsourced movements? A little of both?? Something else???

Better to ask the experts on the UG forum, perhaps.

And post pictures. 😉

It might have something to do with the caliber and not the appearance.

My friend just won a UG chrono gold plated like your #2 picture for less than $800 !!! It contains siblings of Cal 861, 37 mm size, clean design. What not to like? I will proudly wear it.
I like the panda dial #3 even more.

I think I was also bidding for that, was it ebay? Congrats to him. "les goûts et les couleurs ne se discutent pas", excuse my French 😜 But if you want perpetuation of monetary value too then it is a different discussion altogether
