The French Franken is no more but I now have almost a whole 133.8 in donor parts - everything except for one dial screw, one screw from the winding mechanism and the base plate.

Dr Frankenstein had really gone to town getting this one into its new case. There were six places on the base plate where it had been damaged or filed to get it to fit. For those new bumper owners, I took some pictures to show you what the oily bits look like.

Uncased, hands and dial off (plus two screws before I decided to take pictures)

The setting mechanism

Turned over, this is what it looks like whole

The bridge for the oscillating weight removed

The weight removed

The balance cock removed

That is one big, awkward shaped bridge removed. I suspect it will be an act of great patience to replace when I get onto the Chronometre

Same view, turned through 90 degrees

So that's where the mainspring is hiding

Barrel removed, just the wheels, palet & bridge and that seized screw holding the flat spring on the left.
