·there's little chance you'll be able to fix the digital part of this watch. these watches were equipped with really fragile moments that did not age well.
if it was a later model you would be able to find a donor. finding one for this one should be next to impossible.

I've found this ETA movement in many watches of the era. Everything from Waltham to Accutron. If you are looking for a quick swap, start looking for watches on ebay. If you try to buy a bare movement, good luck.
I agree these are often broken. Early quartz movements were easy to "smoke" if you mishandle them.
BTW, this same movement came in a Heuer diver from the same era.

·one of the worst movements ever made for the 2 pusher udt models.
the digital portion always crapped out. it you happen to find one that works, better sell the watch because it will crap out again as well...you might be able to get the analog to work, but that will be about it.
best advice is to sell the watch for parts.

·Ahh thanks for the info. From what I've seen it looked as though it was barely worn. Found sitting under a bed for longer than I've been alive. However it's been in a humid, tropical environment for years so who knows what's going on inside. I'll give it a shot to get the analog to possibly work seeing as I received it from my grandmother for free.

·Take it to a watchmaker and have the battery replaced and see what happens. Then snap a pic for us with the results. The battery runs both the ana and digi portions. You don't have a choice to just have the analog portion work. What usually happens is that the analog portion works but the digital does not. Sometimes I would get a display but not able to get it to respond. 00:00, for instance.

·chronosport use to partner with breiting for this watch and several others models. breitling had ther own specific name for their models while chronosport had theirs. the two companies worked side by side and the parts were identical. the two button model was the early version. and with later versions chronosport started cheaping out using japanese quartz in them.
the udt was actually before the pluton and basically brought the partnership together.
rambo also wore the chronosport UDT in one of his movies.
pluton, tabarly, 1000m quartz compressor..all were made by chronosport as well

no need to be curious. there's little to no chance the digital portion of this watch will ever work correctly again. and if you happen to find the right movement and it does work it will crap out just replacing it, or shortly thereafter.

·A little curiosity over whether it'll work or not won't hurt. I've got the watch for free and if it doesn't work that'll be fine. A little optimism goes a long way even for the impossible.

·As of now, I have not any success but that's mostly due to the fact I put this project on the back burner for the time being. Post a pic of yours though!
