I have just begun to receive the message shown below. I am using a Mac with OS 10.10.5 and Safari 10.0.2

Perhaps there is some updating or tweaking required on your end?

I'm using exactly the same configuration without issue.........

Yeah, the problem is that I'm loathe to supply Google with even more personal information...

You should also check that time and date are correct on your computer.
Seems obvious, but it happens sometimes that date goes completely mad and you're back in the 70's (which is good, but not for web browsing)
