Casio Crystal repair/replacement ? TS-2000 Thermometer

Hi everyone,

I’m sharing a few photos of my Casio Thermometer TS-2000 - a watch I’m quite fond of, even if it’s not a collector’s piece. Unfortunately, the crystal is pretty scratched up, and I’d really like to give it a bit of a refresh.

Has anyone here tried removing scratches on this model? I assume it’s not a sapphire crystal, so I’m wondering if polishing is even an option?

Alternatively, would it be possible to replace the glass? Is it hard to find a replacement part? And more importantly, is it risky to attempt the swap myself - or should I leave it to a pro?

Thanks in advance for any advice or shared experiences!

Alex

some serious elbow grease and some polywatch might make thing better.. I doubt its going to make it worse

IF that doesn't work, I might see if you can find someone with a desktop laser cutter. Making a new one of those is probably not too bad, but getting the fit right will take a bit of trial and error. Plexi stock is pretty cheap 😀

THAT might be bad enough though that polywatch isn't enough. AND I'd be a bit concerned about hitting the plastic around it and softening edges/etc.

Thanks for you answers !
I don't know if polywtach would to the trick, the glass is not acrylic looks like a pretty hard mineral. I'll try though.
The laser thing is a bit too technical for me ahah 😂
and yeah the ebay listing looks like the cleanest option

I'll let you know 👍
