Over the weekend, my 10 year old granddaughter mentioned that she was hoping to get a watch for the first time. She’d seen one of these and had set her heart on getting one

Like most OF members, I have various ‘spare’ watches and it just so happened ….

I’m thinking the Jesuit, Loyola, “Give me the child (at 7) and I give you back the (wo)man”. 😀

I dare say that for many of us growing up in the late 70s to early 80s a watch like this would have been our very first.

Looks impressive. I can't help but wonder though how well that stainless steel case and bracelet will hold up if it's used as intended for a G-Shock. At least a resin case won't show up scratches or dents as easily.

Have owned a SS 5000 for a few years now. With so many polished surfaces, it definitely shows scratches more than a resin G. I wear mine as more of a casual wear option than a hard-wearing G. That is what my resin models are for!

The SS is also noticeably heavier. Not something most would prefer for active wear. Ti G's are a better choice for that (if you want a metal, active wear, G)

DLC, or andonized so I’d assume pretty scratch resistant.
