Hey all,

I was looking for strap suggestions for my new to me carrera cv2111-0. My dad gifted it to me for my wedding a few weeks ago. I saw a picture of one on a gulf livery nato strap, although I can’t find any gulf livery 19mm nato straps. I was also looking at a suede strap and a flat link bracelet. I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas for things that would look good on this? I want to lean into the vintage racing aesthetic with it. I don’t really like the look of rally straps though. 19mm is a hard lug width to find straps for though. I also put a forstner komfit on it and I like the look, but the buckle is hard to clip on with the heavy watch head of this watch.

Not really a strap suggestion. But if you want a vintage aesthetic, Uncle Straps makes a 19mm heritage style double grain beads of rice bracelet for the Carrera. It was designed for some of the newer heritage Heuer Carrera re-issues with 19mm lug width. Not sure if it will work on yours, but I think there's a good chance it might fit. It's a great bracelet!

Thanks for that! I love the look! I would think it would fit, but I’m not positive if the curved end links would fit flush against my case. Would take some more investigating.

I'm not sure either, and with the end-links being solid, it's hard to modify if it doesn't fit perfectly.

Here's another thread that should interest you. this was before Uncle Straps released a specific TAG Heuer bracelet. User @thingziliketoo was able to fit a number of different bracelets to a Carrera similar to yours.

Regarding a Gulf nato strap, a 20mm isn't too bad a fit. I use a 20mm Martini Racing nato strap with my 19mm 60th Anniversary Carrera for fun.

I do enjoy the look of the flat link bracelet. Forstner is a bit out of the budget right now, but maybe when I get some more money saved up, that will be an upgrade I’m willing to make.

I did try a 20mm nato and saw that it spilled over the lugs a little bit, but it wasn’t too noticeable and definitely great for a shorter term option.

I put a Forstner Seven-Row Beads of Rice on my Accutron recently.
I believe it's 17mm tho. Accutron is a bit of an oddity; it's a fractional measurement, hence a little gap. While the band is well made, it's much lighter than bespoke bracelets, even compared to an Aquaracer ladder bracelet (another name for three-row).

The price was quite reasonable though, $140 IIRC. And both the seven and nine row models are available in 19mm.
