There are no serial numbers on the Tag Heuer 1000s, only model reference numbers. Some of the early 1000 series Heuers (pre-L models) featured serial numbers but nothing later.

Thanks,

Thanks for your reply Justin
I was trying to find a little bit about the watch as it has been in a box in the loft for the last 20+ years

Not a problem. Let me know if you have any questions in particular, I service and restore these all the time so I’m quite familiar with them.

Thanks,

Justin

You won't find a serial number on these. Heuer was particularly poor at keeping records and logging things, so whilst some of the more expensive models received serial numbers the divers didn't.

Only when Monnin first started making the 844 for Heuer did they get a serial number, and that was Monnin's serial number rather than Heuer's.

There's not so much to find out other than probably you already have.

The movement appears to be the ESA movement so is one of the earlier pieces, but then the dial is marked 1000 so will be towards the back end of that timeline.

Stick a new crystal on it and it should look almost like new as the bezel, dial and hands look in good condition. New crystal is about £10 or so. If you're in the UK I can highly recommend someone to service the movement and replace the crystal.

Phillbee I can put you in contact with the guy (benchdweller.uk) in NI that does great work and will cost you relatively little and will provide a return on investment. You'll either make that money back on selling it or enjoying it.

It will cost you about £60 for service and new crystal from him. If there's something else needed then of course it could need parts, but it's a quartz movement so not very expensive overall.
