Hi,

I got this Admiral last year. I know nothing about it other than I like its unusual design and retro features. I believe it's from the 60's but that's about all I know. I've heard it houses a 30x or 50x movement.

I want to know how to open the casback, do I need a special tool? Is it difficult to do?

Appreciate you replies...Now here's the watch!

It's a front loading watch, so the bezel and crystal come off then the stem is split to remove the dial & movement. It's mid 60's to mid 70's and houses a caliber 50x.

The first time you pull apart a split stem you'll think you're going to wreck the movement.

Twisting the red knob at the top squeezes the fingers against the edge of the crystal shrinking it slightly allowing it to be removed from the case, giving access to the movement which then comes right out.

The movements in these Longines are actually held in place by the crystal.
