Can an original Rolex Oyster bracelet 93150 be serviced / repaired?

Hello, my father gave me his Sub 1991 16610 with Box & Papers. He has the full service history with Rolex in St James Square in London. In 2022 Rolex replaced the original 93510 bracelet..

My question is can the original Rolex Oyster bracelet 93510 be restored / and tightened?
I also have the original ‘R8’ clasp - dated August 1993 - and 501B endlinks. I've tried to show the condition & wear in the images;-

So would a watchmaker in the UK service the bracelet (as well as the movement)... has anyone got any experience in this matter?

Many thanks

Yep, there are people who will restore bracelets for a price. It's pretty labor-intensive and specialized. If you use the search function, there are quite a few threads on the topic. Quite possibly you will end up sending the watch and bracelet to different people.

Alternatively, you can buy a new 93150.

I’ve used Swiss Refurb in the UK for an Oyster bracelet. Laser welded, repinned and refinished. Decent.

Hi Dan, thanks for excellent advice. The Sub came with two 93150 bracelets; the original worn bracelet with ‘R8’ clasp & 501B endlinks.

The 2nd 93150 bracelet was replaced by Rolex in 2022, and is in great condition.

I don't really see the need to keep both bracelets. Plus, I'll wear the Sub on a NATO style strap.. and just keep one spare 93150 bracelet..

As I want to keep the watch as 100% original as possible - I was considering selling the newer 2022 bracelet - and use the sale funds to refurb the original 93150 bracelet. I am quite new to Rolex.. so do you think I'm making the right call, and keeping the watch as original as possible?

Many people don't care too much about having an original bracelet, because they are so often replaced, but I can certainly understand the desire to keep the watch original, especially as a family piece.

I personally would try and get the original 93150 bracelet refurbished. Then once finished, you can make the decision to either sell the new replacement from 2022 or keep it. I'd be worried to wear my Sub on a 93150 that is stretched out to this magnitude; good call with the replacement bracelet. I've read good things about Rolliworks in Miami, FL. Never used them for a bracelet service myself though, so no first hand experience.

I’d always try and keep the original bracelet and I expect yours could be restored to a good standard. From memory it’s about £350-400 for the re-pinning to tighten it up, plus around the same again for laser welding the worn links and refinishing the bracelet.

It’s only slightly cheaper than buying a new one but it preserves originality.

Hi David, thanks for this advice.. and that's truly uncanny timing. As I was just writing an email to get the bracelet repaired!

I have since sold the replacement bracelet and will use the funds to restore the original bracelet. I've been in touch with Swiss Refurb UK, and they will do the work in due course.

So thanks again for the recommendation;-)

Good to hear, I think this is a great choice. Glad it worked out.
