·Hi, all - new member here. I'm hunting around for a vintage Panda dial Top Time ref. 2002, and I have a question about the dials on these watches. I found enough Top Time threads here to think there's a pretty good knowledge base.
My understanding is that the tachy scale is printed on a tension ring which sits on top of the dial (top pic). But SO many of the watches I see listed on eBay and C24 have the tacky scale printed on the dial (bottom pic). I think I see this more often than I see the separate, raised tachy ring.
Is this a legit version, or should I proceed from the assumption that all of the latter examples (bottom pic) have incorrect and transplanted dials, taken from a ref. 2006?
Thanks in advance! I'm a Carrera guy (see pics in related Heuer thread) which is why one of these Breitlings would fit nicely in to my collection.
