I was hoping there would be a new collaboration between Tag Heuer and Aston Martin rather than Timex,

I wouldn't really associate Timex with motor racing or automotive themes.

Fun and affordable. If I were an Aston Martin F1 fan, I could see myself buying one of these two.

Yes Aston Martin the car maker has had a long standing partnership with Girard Perregaux,

I guess they are structured as different entities, as a separate partnership with the Aston Martin F1 Team

The TAG Heuer partnersip with Aston Martin expired when they got their own F1 team.

Good find @MrSmith . I like both watches, but personally I'd go for the one with the black dial.
