On the subject of budget straps, I've always liked the velcro Animal straps, infinitely adjustable, very tough, very cheap. The only downside is that with a layer of Velcro and a layer of webbing lifting the case off your wrist, a chunky watch can feel very clumsy.



The one pictured started off as nubuc leather, but has polished with age. I ran my Quartz aquaracer on one of these for a while, but ironically the metal TAG strap is better for surfing as it fits under a wetsuit more easily.

Thanks for posting Hubert- I'm a big fan of these types of straps- Zulu, NATO, Perlon, Sailcloth, Velcro- all great ways of changing the look of your watch and not so expensive.

Several of the new 2015 models will have different types of strap, which is a positive development.

OK, I have to ask @elbeik ...what did you do to your Carrera😉

Maybe it's the choice of color, but the Carrera is too "thick" for a perlon.
