Less than two hours to go. Once the buyer figures out it's a franken I wonder what their options will be.

HAHAHA.... Makes you wonder if he knows that already but is waiting for someone that doesn't know to be stung unfortunately.

I don’t think the buyer knows what it actually is.

Do we agree that the seller knows? Seems too carefully worded....and not responding to requests.

Given the other pieces in the seller’s inventory…possibly. That said, to spot the features that indicate the watch was not an original AS requires specific knowledge that the average person would not possess. At the very least, the seller likely understood the series engraving was not present and therefore the watch’s value was much less than an example with it.

The parts do have value in and of themselves, though I’m not sure it’s £17K worth.

Def not 17k.

Having spoken to a different dealer who has been looking at some other stuff the seller has/had he didn't answer his questions either that were specific, so I'm leaning towards that he doesn't know with various pieces let alone this.

In my opinion, the simple fact that he sells it on eBay means he knows it’s not the real deal. He could sold a real AS for more money than that, even to a dealer.

I hunt a lot on eBay, like I guess many of us, and generally speaking, someone who sells multiple watches, takes acceptable pictures, but seems evasive on details is bad news 😁

Interesting to see what it will reach in a big auction house 😀

Very curious negotiation….Foffi, the Rome merchant, had sold Apollo-Soyuz watch number 100 for 100,000€ and now this is being resold for 26,000€?

The economic aspect of this watch has never interested me much and consequently I don't want to dwell on it too much but it is a very curious negotiation…

Do you know what I've been seeing lately? Some watchmakers offer Moonwatch online with Apollo Soyuz watch bracelets or dials. All in the light of day; a desired and declared transformation, without hiding anything.

I think I see those BMW K1100s transformed into Café Racer… I don't know if you've ever seen them...?
