True barnyard finds always draw a crowd. I particularly enjoyed the description that said “watch doesn’t run. Needs new battery”

Imagine that ten years ago you could walk into a goodwill store in Missouri and buy this for $10

went for $15,072

I was watching it. Had nice potential. But you'd have to really want an El Primero.

Still blows my mind that things like this get sent off to goodwill. It’s not like it was a charitable donation to a children’s hospital- this was just dumped with the contents of grandpa’s sock drawer.

It takes 30 seconds to search on the internet. Just goes to show that there are still a lot of people who think old watches are junk.

I have been watching goodwill for quite a while. Everything gets bid up too fast there. I did get one watch from GW, just becouse I could. I was purchasing a lot of cameras and some lenses before I got interested in watches again. I did get close to a tissot rock watch, There was a wood watch the other day, but I forgot to bid on it. Now I am going to have to start looking for zenith. I do search zodiac from time to time.

I have noticed though on eBay, that the count of listed items has jumped by about 300,000 in the last month. With goodwill it is harder to know. I still think some of the watches I have came from GW through one of the dealers who would get them in bulk.
