In love with vintage Moonphase watches but not sure which brand would be the best to have for around 1k-2k

Would love some comments!

There was a thread discussing these not long ago...
I've always been fascinated by the moon, and so the moonphase complication was one of the first quality watches I bought for myself when this obsession started.

Not sure if this will post a link to the thread or not (it's after 1am and I'm doing this on my phone...). If it doesn't, a search for "moonphase" should give you a few leads rather quickly.

I had the same interest as well, for newer watches, I would recommend something from Frederique Constant or the Oris big crown. If you are looking for vintages watches, definitely check out the triple calendar moonphase from the 1940-1950s (varying price depending on brands, a zodiac can be had for under 1k, an Omega cosmic for around 2k or a rolex triple calendar moonphase for half a million dollars) 馃槈

I know it's not vintage, but personally, I think that Frederique Constant moon phase watches are lovely. If you can afford their Manufacture version, go for it!

I like Zodiac TDM for the cost and quality for under 1K. You can find Leonidas TDM in steel case that is very heavy and solid case for under a 1K. Over a thousand you can aquire Universal Geneve, Omega and E Gubelin between 1K -2K in stainless. Mint SS E Gubelin TDM from my collection !

Movado would be my vote for vintage. The lugs on these were awesome. Also, Angelus has a pretty good looking one. I had the same quest awhile back and settled on Omega TDMP

Junghans Meister Calendar has a nice look to it in your price point.

Just found this Record Datofix. Needs some work but was far below your price range.
Inhouse movement and good case quality.
Examples in better condition start around 800$.

I have the FC 703s3s6 (slimline moon phase) which I absolutely love. It's keeping time as well as my AT and at 38.8mm it fits my wrist perfectly. You can find one of these on the grey market for $1200-1500US easily so it's within your budget if you don't mine buying GM.
