Any ideas on the Year?

I really like to color and that it has a date. I can't seem to find anything on this and more surprised that there is no engraving on the movement.

Its a more modern Seamaster, probably 1970s some time, do you have a serial number for it? And is this a watch you've bought or one you're considering buying?

I have purchased, but it has not been delivered. I assume with the serial the year can be identified? I will need to look the serial up when the watch arrives. Thanks.

I have seen just a couple of pics of this movement with no engraving. Although the watch cases I am seeing this movement in are diver type cases.

I'd say that this watch is what I like to call a "Mumbai Special". These are put together in horological chop shops in India. There are always some of these avaliable on eBay at any point in time.

The watch has an incorrectly refinished dial. I don't think this shade of blue was ever used by Omega. Fonts and spacing seem to be more or less correct. The real tell here is that the hands and dial have luminous material, but there are no "T's" next to the "Swiss Made" at the bottom of the dial that would have required by the law at that time.

These 1000 series movements don't usually have a lot of engraving on them, and this one looks to be in better shape than many I've seen.

If you didn't pay more than a couple of hundred, then then you probably didn't get burned too badly.

Thanks for that link. It appears the movement is from 1968-73 era. As I look more closely at the case, I see that the movement is not centered in the case, so I suspect this is not the original case.
