Hello! This watch was my father's, and it still runs although a gee minutes fast. Im suspecting fake because of the font on the face and the not so perfect engravings on the movement and the back plate. It has sentimental value so I'll keep it regardless but curious if my dad got ripped off back in the day. Thank you!

It's a real Omega but with a refinished dial, which is very common because these snap back cases had no water resistance at all, and over time moisture would get into them and damage the dial, making refinishing almost unavoidable on daily worn watches.

There's some more info on the reference here: https://www.omegawatches.com/en-au/watch-omega-other-omega-ot-2417

That page refers to the gold version, yours is the steel version (CK2417)

All real Omega as noted by @dsio.
The movement serial number dates movement production to 1947/1948 which is a clue to the dial being incorrectly finished.
The italicised printing is from a much earlier period (pre 1940s), not post WW2.

Yep, late 40s watch with a dial in an earlier style. Interesting, because it's the opposite of what we often see with repainted dials, where a later style is used. I fully expected to see an 8M serial number and had to do a double-take when I saw the 11M.

Its a nice heirloom worth doing a basic service. Redials were common part of routine service, and I think its atttractive no reason not to wear and enjoy it as your dad saw it.
