Alternatives to Zuludiver Octopod clasp

Does anyone know of cheaper alternatives to the Octopod. AUD180 for a clasp is a bit too rich for me.

I hadn't actually seen one like that before. There probably are cheaper options but the quality will go down pretty quickly, especially when you go from something made with machined parts to cast parts. Are these for any NATO or just a specific type of NATO strap?

Anchor Strap sells a sort of similar strap in elastic and in nylon. The OctoPod clasp is definitely higher quality, though.

They aren’t like a deployant strap. Different approach.

Did you even look at the links I posted? Apparently not, since the links were to the “Deployant Elastic” and “Deployant MkIII” straps.

Of course I looked. That clasp does not look like it would work. The Zuludiver straps don’t have holes.

Sorry, I'm confused. The Octopod is an elastic or nylon single pass strap with a deployant clasp. (Zuludiver recently added a two-piece alternative as well.) Anchor Straps sells an elastic and a nylon single pass strap with a deployant clasp. That would seem to be a reasonable alternative.

But it sounds from the above comment that you want to re-use Zuludiver elastic straps with a less expensive clasp. If that's the case, my apologies for misinterpreting. There may be a Zuludiver clasp knock-off on Ali Express, but I'm not aware of any clasp that would work with unmodified Zuludiver straps.

There are several options for single pass elastic straps with different clasp approaches. Erika's Originals is probably the best known, but there is also Nick Mankey Designs, The Watch Steward, and Luff Watchstrap, as well as various inexpensive sellers on Amazon, etc.

The Anchor is probably closest to something that might work. Would need some holes poked.

Just as an FYI, if the extra holes are needed due to a smaller wrist, the OctoPod might be problematic anyway. Even the latest, "more compact" OctoPod clasp is 54.5mm in length by my measurement. It fits on my 15cm wrist, but just barely. Honestly, I find the other elastic straps mentioned above to be much more comfortable.
