I found Desmond's article on on Dynamics, Dynamic Story, and searched the world for one with a movement shot. This is as rare as hen's teeth, as it is a front loader and opening them is a PIA. At the time I knew enough to know that I didn't want a Cal. 10xx. I found nice Dynamic in Australia, and as I like to take the road less traveled, it was a Dynamic DeVille, pictured below. I also began my quest for original buckles with that watch, and unlike many, I have had good luck with original vitange straps.
I found the forum and dove right in. I started with the first post and worked my way forward. By the time I got to the latest one, at the time, I felt like I already knew most of the members. I did not have any affection for the Speedmasters, so I skipped every SM post as I progressed through the threads in the forum. I have developed relationships with a few members over the years, but can do better by getting to know members by more than reputation and posts. I started with vintage, discovered other brands, sold off most of my original pre-forum starter collection, I gained an understanding of movements, buckles, brands, and I learned that loving somthing on sight, does not mean aquire it. I have seen a million Uncle's watches and gained respect for the common squirrel. Thank you Trev, Ash, and all the moderators for all you do. Thank you @X350 XJR for being an amazing resource, and I thank every member of the forum for makeing me feel like part of a family. Here is my first and last Omega. Onward to 10,000. If I keep posting at my current pace I shoud get there in 2078.
