Advice Needed Re: Service And Dial?

Greetings my UG friends. I don't spend the time here like I did on the Omega side (my loss I know).
A dear friend of the family has asked me to have an heirloom restored (belonged to the uncle for whom he was named). I have questions!


1) The dial was obviously restored some time ago. Would you recommend leaving it or doing it over? If so, who would you turn to for such a complicated dial?
2) Are there watch makers who specialize in the Tri-Compax? Who are they? Share them her or send me a PM please! I know some specialists for the Omega Moonwatch, but not a UG Tri-Compax!

1. You're not likely to get a better re-dial than the one that's one there now. Plus, as it ages you may get a nice vintage-y patina. I'd leave it alone unless that crystal is disguising some major defects that we can't see from here.

2. As it's a family heirloom, the family would likely enjoy a pictorial of the servicing process (and to see the inside of the watch). Al Archer, a watchmaker in Canada, does excellent work and is well regarded around the forum. Shipping from the US is also reported to be quite simple provided you follow his directions. Keep in mind that Archer is quite busy. His work is excellent, though. That's why he's so popular. Certainly you should keep him in mind.
