Laurent is a VERY hard act to follow, but here is the A3817 I was finally able to nail down, with rather plain original Zenith leather strap and steel buckle. Won in a sales contest in Indiana in 1971 by the late brother of the very fine gentleman from whom I obtained it. Zenith produced 1000 of these, in 1971.

Thank you, gentlemen. Somehow it feels more robust than the similarly-dialled A386. Maybe it's just that the strap feels less delicate than my 386's Gay-Freres ladder bracelet. Anyway, a rare prize find that has managed to avoid most of the horrible things that happen to 40+ year-old watches.

I'm tendering my resignation from the Zenith forum immediately. 🤬

Good Luck, I just checked and Lou never filled your paper work with the Forum Applications Committee. So unless you want to re-file with the $55. fee, your off the hook!
However, no coupons for eBay Zenith discounts (you wouldn't have won anyway, $$.)

A beauty, I have a crush for this blue hand

I like it a great deal too. It is the classic French Racing Blue and reminds me of Talbots and Bugattis and Alpine Renault - such a nice detail.
