Yes, these were made, and the dial may be original.

That's a really nice piece; a stop-second flyback timer IIRC. Very cool with the center chrono design and large case.

Are you sure about the dial?!? It is really too beautiful to be real... I know someone that made longines dial with original cliches and all matches ... but the patina!

I am not 100% sure, but believe it likely to be original. When judging a very clean dial, the first thing to do is to compare it to the condition of the case and movement. If there is sharp dissonance, then it is wise to be skeptical. But, as in this instance, as the case and movement also appear to be in exceptionally good condition, a clean dial should not automatically raise a red flag.

In my over-flowing drawer of impossible to complete projects I have a 12.68z movement. I’ll maybe request an extract from the SN one day and see what it once was. Would love to get it built up, but being a realist I’m not sure it’ll ever happen. Nice to dream though 🙄

Only got the crappy photos from the sellers listing.

It’s good to be skeptical but clean original dials, even stretching back 70 years, do exist.

The time will come... when the problem of redial will be nonexistent.
And I agree with this approach!
The important is to declare (clearly, without fear) it. Today is too punitive to do it... and is BETER to be skeptical... when nothing clearly said about originality of a dial😉.
Redial under respect of the originality is better like a poor untouched. And this is a fact.

My opinion is, when it should be untouched the seller had to say that CLARELY... he spoke about the case, the box (not present... but curiously not about a beautiful dial. So I’m not only skeptical at the moment. I’m quite sure😎

Sorry : not answered... not at all. On my hairline is a 30ch or better a 13zn sandwich dial...- but at the actual prices... is a nightmare!

I posted that only because is it quite rare to see this caliber with chrono options.

Funny to see he blurred out the batch number 😀 Anyone who knows what the asking price is? I assume 25-30k...

Quiet a rare bird!
Thanks @erpin9 for your Post. The article on hodinkee shows very well how it works by this watch. Much interestingly is the double hands seconds/minutes!
Well do !
