Several years ago, I bought a Gay Freres bracelet with UM endpieces, and have looked for a watch to put it on ever since.

It has finally come to pass

Yep, a second execution Space Compax, seen here before I found replacements for the rubber pushers, with beautifully aged and intact lume.

darned hard to pin down an original, and aggressively faked in the past few years, this one is even has the original crystal

it gives a very solid impression, a little crude, as if it were all of a piece. The overlong second sweeper is a characteristic feature that most people miss - it just doesn't look right without it.

the caseback confirms that UG considered this the second executions

Fantastic package. If we had a jealousy emoticon it would certainly get a good workout on this thread. 😀

That is drop dead gorgeous. You have the same evil streak that Mike has.

I think the key thing here is how the bracelet was bought years ago and waited patiently all this time, you play a long game and the rewards are completed pieces like this.

thank you, gents. It's been on the (non-Zenith) short list for a very long time.

Yes, exactly. I have a whole series of bracelets and crowns I am hoping to grow watches from 😀

Lovely Lou, I really couldn't say whether I prefer first or second versions, both are very cool and certainly worthy of a place in the 'chronograph' pantheon. Yours is in tremendous condition and has aged very very well - a top example.

That is absolutely stunning. I'm glad I'm not the only one to hoard the odd UG bracelet.

I'd take a Space Compax any day. The only aspect of the Speedmaster I like better is the twisted lugs.

Fantastic find Lou. I would love to own one but fear the process of finding one.

LouS

Can you possibly give advise on where to find a set of these rubber pushers ? I am considering making them but without having the original to compare it's hard to find even the proper material not to say to make them even functional.
But sourcing a replace pair would be much better..

I would highly appreciate the effort.
