"A. LeCoultre" Levrette Watch Co. mystery

The pocket watch below is currently listed on eBay. Both the movement and case are signed "A. LeCoultre" and "Levrette Watch Co.". Knowing little about LeCoultre, I wondered if the movement could have been made by them for Levrette Watch Co. I asked @Modest_Proposal and he did not recognize the movement as a LeCoultre ebauche.




Hello S., there is another A. LeCoultre mentioned on www.classicwatch.com. JLC Forum in the archived messages section on May 6, 2010. There may well be more, but it takes some time! to find anything due to the message headers. Maybe it helps a bit. Cheers, Wes






After a bit more searching, I found a few other Levrette pocket watches with similar movements, none with any mention of "A. LeCoultre".

Checking Mikrolisk, there was a result returned for "A. LeCoultre": Albert LeCoultre of La Chaux-de-Fonds. A bit more searching and I found an old advert.

It may be consulted..." , and one more time on what comes up to get everything up to feb. 2015, especially at the bottom of the page for earliest dates by year. Have fun!
