A few nice pictures of a Blue Dial Speedmaster

I have a soft spot for all things speedmaster, especially off-piste.

These blue metallic, or soleil, dials are the subject of considerable debate, and there are more than one execution.

Here are a couple of photos.


Next to the black dial, the colour is striking.



Auction houses have suggested in the past that there are up to 20.

Others have suggested they are service dials.

Omega has confirmed many of these dials on their extracts.

I have seen more than one example without feet, suggesting that it is a sample dial from a book. The ones I have seen have a lot of damage.

These dials are not the same as the matt grey dials. Which is another matter.

That really is in excellent condition, so many of these, including the one I once owned, have degraded dials. Lovely!

That blue dial is very stunning. I'd like to see one in the metal someday.
