·Morning. Does anyone have a recommendation for somewhere in the UK to service this 62mas? It belongs to a friend and it was her fathers watch so has lots of sentimental value. These are the only photos I have unfortunately.

·These aren't difficult movements to service and repair, and parts are plentiful, so any competent vintage specialist will be able to service it. Needs a blob of lume at 11 o'clock too.
Original crystals are very rare and expensive, and the replicas are not a perfect match, so get the existing crystal polished instead.
watchguy.co.uk do a great job and turn things around quickly. And the Seiko gurus below are all very competent in my opinion

·Thanks zetamajor. From a quick search I read that parts were difficult to source but I guess not. The crystal looks like it isn’t cracked so as you say it should polish up well.

·Rich at watchblogspot is excellent with Seikos and Heuers. My Heuers only ever go to Rich.

·You've gotten good recommendations for watchmakers, so here are a few other thoughts.
You may want to consider having jewels installed in the auto-winding during the service. It's only a 17j movement and the bushings are almost always in bad shape. I do this routinely when I get a 62mas.
And if you can find someone who knows how to replace the crown seal, that would be a bonus. Moisture often enters these watches and the lume gets moldy and ugly.
BTW, it should be easy enough for someone with experience to fill the 11 o'clock lume plot and the bezel reservoir with a good match. After that, just polish the crystal, and it will look great.

·I have no useful advice, but darn I need to get around to tracking down a 62mas next year. It's getting harder and harder to find decent examples.
